Do you know Frankie Rose? I didn't, until Callie Hart explained she was going to release a Sci-fi novel under that name. No need to tell you, I had to take my chance with this genre I'm not too familiar with and I loved every word of it. 

A damaged hero (more accurately anti-hero). A strong and resilient heroine. And a unique tether that draws them toward each other.
I won't tell you more about the plot since it's quite mysterious and you'll have to discover by yourself the unique bond between Reza and Jass.

The author leads us into a fascinating intergalactic world/battlefield where the Construct's power, manipulation and betrayal rule. Jass is their deadly weapon, but will love and compassion be the key to his redemption, or will they eventually mean Reza's perdition?

The love/hate relationship is intense, a true battle of will. Will they surrender, though? 

The evolution and the conflict of the characters' feelings and interests was very clever. Trust and allegiance will be tested and I particularly enjoyed not knowing where Jass really stood in the bigger picture.

Suspenseful, gripping, action packed, Black Moon Rising had me holding my breath, just like the heroine did, until the unthinkable happened...Oh, was it twisted!!!

“Reza . It’s never going to be easy for you to look at me. Looking at me makes you feel alive. Looking at me makes you want. Looking at me makes you need. So just fucking do it. Look at me. Look at me right now, the way I’m looking at you.”

Well done, Frankie Rose, I'm ready for the follow up!!!

Last review of this year for the last book of that fantastic series. Funny how it's sometimes difficult to say goodbye to fictional characters, although I guess  it's what happens when the author is so talented that you could almost swear they are real.


After 3 books, I was more than ever enthralled by that "giant clusterfuck" of a relationship. Lil, Dane, Avery and Jason slowly work their issues out, although all of them still struggle to find their place. 

That's one of the things I find amazing in this series: to write a relationship with 2 people is difficult but with 4 characters, each one having a strong personality,  and staying true to themselves, is a masterpiece. 


I'm glad they eventually found their footing, after so much (self) doubting, jealousy and dramas, which were balanced with the hottest scenes, compassion, communication and let's not forget it, LOVE. SO. MUCH. LOVE.(*swooning*) even if I think it will always be a precarious equilibrium, they seem to live their Happily Ever After. 


Thank you L.L. MEYER for a beautiful writing, a challenging story, and such an intense and scorching hot scenario. I loved (my autocorrect keeps changing loved into lived, but finally I could maybe let it that way because I somehow feel like I was a part of the story, lol), every part of it. Your characters are perfect, perfectly imperfect, for my greatest pleasure !!!

BLACK WATERS (TAINTED WATERS #2) by India R. Adams: ARC Review

Never, NEVER would have I expected that book to crush my heart like it did. If Blue Waters broke it, Black Waters totally crushed it. 

Like for the 1st opus, I didn't knew what Black Waters was about. I guessed it was the followed up of Blue. Nope. When I saw it was the same story but from Link's point of view, I was intrigued, yes,   although intrigued doesn't begin to cover what I felt.


Let me tell you, the atmosphere in this book is way darker. It was devastating. And true to the author's style, it was beautifully devastating. Oh, boy did I cry!!!


The love those kids have for each other is passionate. What they learn, as the story unfolds, and the revelations unravel had my jaw dropping more than once. And despite everything, they fight harder and harder, never giving up. The thing is, did they stand any chance at all? Caught in the crossfire of elements they never controled, where threats arise and stakes are higher than ever, Link and Crash managed to build a fantastic relationship based on respect and their love for Whit. In the middle of that war and all that anguish, that shred apart Whit, Crash and Link's innocence, the purity of the feelings was like a bubble of oxygen. Protectiveness, fierceness and selflessness carry a tragic plot where hope is progressively disappearing, leaving me wondering until the last moments.


I highly recommend this books if you're in the mood for a strong and beautifully written story with the deepest emotions.

BLUE WATERS (TAINTED WATERS #1) by India R. Adams: ARC Review

Where should I start?...

Ah, my friends highly recommended Blue Waters, but seriously, I was far from imagining the mess I would be by the end of it!

This is a deeply emotional read; although rather short (but fortunately, #2 is already available), it's not less feelings and twists packed.


I went into it completely blind, (I read the blurb at some point but it was weeks before) and I suggest you do the same, as the story totally surprised me. 


Told from Whit's point of view, it follows a group of teenagers who at first appear to be little brats, but fast start to reveal the depths of their personalities. 

They are perfectly handled, acting according to their age, with their fire, sassy replies and most importantly the tribe vibe that qualifies them. I loved Link and Whit's relationship, their closeness and protectiveness. It was as sweet as it was heartbreaking. But what moved me the most was the strength of Crash and Whit's love. These two had me shedding a tear or two (or more, lol...).


Blue Waters is sweet and raw, mysterious and beautiful. Poetic. I loved the author's writing; the atmosphere of loneliness and the final feel.

"I closed my eyes and prayed for him to not abandon me the way everyone else had."


 This is a descent to hell, and I couldn't help but find it beautiful. I've been trying to understand why since I finished the last page, but I think it's just the magic writing style. Death is ever-present, the grief permanent: of family, friends, friendship, dreams, future... their pain (physical and psychological) was heart-wrenching. I was so enthralled in Whit's journey and emotions that until the last word, she could have chosen one path or the other and it would have been fine by me. Well done, India!
